Therefore, this research was aimed 1) to investigate students’ reading comprehension of narrative texts taught without using Rally Table Strategy, 2) to investigate the students’ reading comprehension of narrative texts taught by using Rally Table Strategy, 3) to investigate whether there was significant difference on students’ reading comprehension of narrative texts taught without and by using the Rally Table Strategy and 4) to investigate whether there was significant effect of using the Rally Table strategy on the students’ reading comprehension in narrative text at State Junior High School 4 Pekanbaru. In this quasi experimental research, the writer applied cluster random sampling as the technique used. Overall population of the research was 363 students. The classes chosen were VIII 6 as the experimental class consisting of 37 students and VIII 7 as the control class consisting of 37 students, thus, the total number of samples in this research was 74 students by doing the post-test for both classes in gaining the result of this research. The result of data analysis showed that there was a significant difference on students’ reading comprehension of narrative texts taught without and by using the Rally Table Strategy, in which the Sig (2-tailed) 0.000 had less value than 0.05. Thus, Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. Furthermore, there is a significant effect of using the Rally Table strategy on the students’ reading comprehension in narrative text at State Junior High School 4 Pekanbaru, in which the result of eta squared 0.24.
