  • Based on the observation before, it was found that the second year students of MTsN Model Kuok Kampar got some problems in reading comprehension such as some of the students were good at reading orally in narrative text but poor to comprehend the text, some of the students were poor to read orally in narrative text but good to comprehending the text, and they were not fluent to read orally in narrative text. The aim of this research was to find out the correlation between students’ oral reading fluency and their reading comprehension. There were two variables used in this research, which were X variable (students’ oral reading fluency) and Y (students’ reading comprehension). The subject of this research was second grade students at MTsN Model Kuok Kampar whereas the object of this research was the correlation between oral reading fluency and reading comprehension. The population of this research was 151 students with the total sample was 44 students. In order to choose the sample, the researcher used the cluster random sampling technique. In collecting the data, the researcher used tes for oral reading fluency and reading comprehension. The technique of data analysis the researcher used was Pearson product moment From the data analysis which had been done by using SPSS 16.0 Version, it could be shown that: 1) the score of correlation coefficient is 0.502> 0.40, it means that Ha was accepted which indicated that there is a significant correlation between students’ oral reading fluency and reading comprehension. 2) The probability of score sig (2- tailed) is 0.001< 0.05. it means that Ha was accepted. In other words, there is a significant correlation between oral reading fluency and reading comprehension. Keywords: Correlation, Oral Reading Fluency, Reading Comprehension.
