  • This research aims to investigate the effect of using 3-2-1 on students’ reading comprehension of report texts at State Senior High School 1 Kampar Regency. Based on the preliminary research, the researcher found that students’ reading comprehension in report text was low. Hence, the researcher was interested in trying to solve the students’ problem by implementing 3-2-1 Strategy. The research design in this research was an experimental research. The type of the research was quasi experimental research. The researcher took two classes as the sample of the research that consisted of 30 students in each class. In the begining of the data collection process, the students’ from both the experimental and control classes were given pre-test to measure their ability in reading report texts. On the other hand, post-tests were administered in both classes after treatments were given to students’ in the experimental class. The data collected was analysed by using independent sample T-test formula in order to find out the difference between the average score of post-test of control class. SPSS 16.0 Version was used to facilitate the data analysis. Based on the data analysis, the researcher found that the result of T-test was 4.312. Then, to was compared with ttable from df = 58 that showed at significance level of 5% was 2.01 and at level of 1% it shows 2.68. It can be said that 2.01 <4.312>2.68. It means that, t obtained >ttable, Ha is accepted. In other words, there is a significant difference of the students’ reading comprehension in Report text between taught by using 3- 2-1 strategy and taught without using 3-2-1 strategy of the second year at State Senior High School 1 Kampar Regency.
