THE EFFECT OF USING GRAPHIC THINKING ORGANIZERS STRATEGY ON STUDENTS’ READING COMPREHENSION OF REPORT TEXT AT STATE SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL 1

- This research was conducted based on the problems faced by the students in learning English especially in reading report text. The writer found that the students still had difficulties in comprehending the reading text especially in report text. This research aimed at finding out whether there is or not significant difference between students’ reading comprehension of report text taught without using Graphic Thinking Organizer Strategy and taught by using it. In this case, the writer provided Graphic Thinking Organizer Strategy to help students’ reading comprehension of report text. This research was an experimental research. The technique of collecting data used by writer was test. Finally, based on the research findings, the writer concluded that there was a significant difference between students’ reading comprehension taught by using and without using Graphic Thinking Organizer Strategy. The writer found that sig (2 tailed) was 0.000 less than 0.05. It means that Ha was accepted and Ho was rejected. In other words, there was a significant differences on students’ reading comprehension of report text between taught without and by using Graphic Thinking Organizer Strategy at the eleventh grade of State Senior High School 1 Tanah Putih.
