THE COMPARISON BETWEEN MALE AND FEMALE IN SPEAKING ANXIETY AT TENTH GRADE OF MUHAMMADIYAH SATU SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL PEKANBARU

- This research is a comparative research design, which is aimed to find out the comparison between male and female in speaking anxiety at Muhammadiyah 1 senior high school Pekanbaru. There are two variables used in this research. They were variable X (male&female) and variable Y (speaking anxiety). There was one instrument used in collecting the data for this research is used questionnaire. Then, Population of this research is 205 students. Then, in taking the sample, the researcher used simple random sampling and chose 42 students from science and social classes as the sample. By using product moment formula through SPSS 2.0 in analyzing the data, the researcher found that the sig.t was 0.041, smaller than the significant alpha of 0.05 (sig.t < 0.05). It means that Ha was accepted, or there is a significant comparison. The writer also found that percentage score of Female students’ Speaking Anxiety at tenth grade of Muhammdiyah satu senior High school pekanbaru is 71.04%. It is categorized as “High” level. The percentage score of Male students’ Speaking Anxiety at tenth grade of Muhammdiyah satu senior High school pekanbaru is 59.71%. It is categorized as “High enough” level.
