THE INFLUENCE OF DOUBLE ENTRY JOURNAL STRATEGY AND PRIOR KNOWLEDGE TOWARD THEIR READING COMPREHENSION AT SMA AS-SHOFA PEKANBARU

- This research used correlational design. The aim of the research was to find out the influence of double entry journal strategy and prior knowledge toward students’ reading comprehension at SMA As-Shofa Pekanbaru. Data were collected through quantitative method by using test. Prior knowledge test and reading comprehension test was used to collect the data. A total of 114 first grade students were involved as the population of the study. The sample of this research was 57 students. The data showed significant influence of double entry journal strategy and prior knowledge toward students’ reading comprehension. The value of R Square was 0.679 and Score of Sig was 0.000. It can be proved by mean score of double entry journal and prior knowledge (80+68.59:2=114.295) and the mean score of reading comprehension was 80. It means that both of mean score of double entry journal and prior knowledge is given influence on reading comprehension.
