STUDENTS’ ABILITY IN WRITING DESCRIPTIVE TEXT AT THE TENTH GRADE OF STATE SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL 12 PEKANBARU

- Based on the researcher’s preliminary observation, the students at the State Senior High School 12 Pekanbaru got difficulties in writing descriptive text. This research aimed at students’ ability in writing descriptive text at the tenth grade of State Senor High School 12 Pekanbaru. This research was descriptive quantitative design. The population and sample of this research was the tenth grade students of State Senior High School 12 Pekanbaru. There were 40 samples which were selected by using simple random sampling technique. In collecting the data, the researcher used test, and the analyzed the data by using descriptive statistic using SPSS version 17.0. After analyzing the data, the result mean score their ability was into 74. Therefore, it can be concluded that students’ ability in writing descriptive text at the tenth grade of state senior high school 12 Pekanbaru into less level.
