THE EFFECT OF “FIND THE DIFFERENT GAME” ON STUDENTS’SPEAKING ABILITY AT ISLAMIC SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL AL-FAJAR PEKANBARU

- This research was conducted based on students’ problem in students’ speaking ability. Therefore, this research was aimed 1) to investigate students’ speaking ability before being taught by using Find the Different Game, 2)to investigate the students’ speaking ability after being taught by using Find the Differences Game, 3)to investigate whether there was significant effect on students’ speaking ability before and after being taught by using the Find the Different Game of the second year at Islamic Senior High School Al-Fajar Pekanbaru. This research had two variables, Find the Different Game as an independent variable and students’ speaking ability as a dependent variable. This research was a pre-experimental research. The researcher selected one class from total two classes by using cluster random sampling technique: experimental class. There were 23 students as sample out of 48 students. In collecting the data, the writer used speaking test. In analyzing the data, the researcher used descriptive statistic and paired sample t-test formula calculated by using SPSS 23 version continued by using eta square formula. The result of data analysis showed that there is a significant effect on students’ speaking ability before and after being taught by using Find the Different Game, in which the Sig (2-tailed)0.000 had less value than 0.05. Thus, Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. Furthermore, there is a significant effect of using the Find the Different Game on the students’ speaking ability of the second year at Islamic Senior High School Al-Fajar Pekanbaru, in which the result of eta squared 0.82.
