THE COMPARISON BETWEEN STUDENTS’ READING COMPREHENSION OF RECOUNT TEXT TAUGHT BY USING CIRC AND JIGSAW AT THE SEVENTH GRADE OF STATE JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL MUHAMMADIYAH 1 PEKANBARU

- The research has three formulation of the problems; how is students’ reading comprehension taught by using CIRC technique at the seventh grade of State Junior High School Muhammadiyah 1 Pekanbaru, how is students’ reading comprehension taught by using JIGSAW technique at the seventh grade of State Junior High School Muhammadiyah 1 Pekanbaru, and whether there is or no a significant difference in reading comprehension between the students taught by using CIRC and JIGSAW technique at the seventh grade of State Junior High School Muhammadiyah 1 Pekanbaru. The objectives of the research were to find out the students’ reading comprehesion taught by using CIRC and JIGSAW technique at the seventh grade of State Junior High School Muhammadiyah 1 Pekanbaru and to find out a significant difference in reading comprehension between the students taught by using CIRC and JIGSAW technique at the seventh grade of State Junior High School Muhammadiyah 1 Pekanbaru. The research design was a comparative research. The population of this research was the seventh grade students of State Junior High School Muhammadiyah 1 Pekanbaru. The sample of this research was 60 students taken from two classes (30 students in each class). They were VII.1 who were taught by using CIRC technique and VII.7 who were taught by using JIGSAW technique. The technique of collecting data used by researcher was test in order to find out the students’ achievements in reading comprehension of recount text. Based on the data analysis, the researcher concludes that there is a significant difference in reading comprehension between the students taught by using CIRC technique and JIGSAW technique at the seventh grade of State Junior High School Muhammadiyah 1 Pekanbaru.
