  • Based on School Based Curriculum (SBC), reading is one of the English language skills that must be taught and learned in Senior High School. State senior high school 04 Duri is a school which uses SBC as the curriculum in the teaching and learning process. After doing observation in State senior high school 04 Duri, the writer found that the students still had difficulties in understanding the narrative text. In this case, the teacher was expected to find a good method in order to give a good contribution to increase students’ ability in understanding the narrative text by applying story logs strategy as a replacement of previous strategy or technique. This research consisted of two variables; they were story logs strategy as variable X, and students’ reading comprehension as variable Y. The type of this research was experimental research. The writer used qusi-experimental design which was intended to find out the effect of using story logs strategy on reading comprehension on narrative text of the students at State senior high school 04 Duri. In analyzing the data, the writer used statistical analysis which used SPSS computer program. It was obtained that tobserved was higher than ttable. It means, null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected, and alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. It could be stated that 2.00<5.042>2.65. In conclusion, there was significant effect of using story logs strategy on reading comprehension on narrative text of the students at State senior high school 04 Duri
