  • The research purposes was to identify the highest growth and production of Eucheuma cottonii seaweed when planted with different number of thallus. The research hypothesis was that the number of thalus at every stool will affect the growth and production of Eucheuma cottonii seaweed. The research was done for 50 days. The research used a Completely Randomized Design with three treatments and three replicates. The treatments were 2 thalus (T2), 4 thallus (T4), and 6 thallus (T6). The measured parameters were growth and production. The plantation method used was a long line method. Data were analyzed using ANOVA and Least Significant Difference method. The number of thallus was significantly affected the growth and production of Eucheuma cottonii seaweed. The highest growth and production was shown by seaweed planted with 2 thallus. The water quality during the research was still suitable for planting Eucheuma cottonii seaweed.
