- Abstract: The purpose of this research is to describe the results of the implementation of Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) Cooperative Learning Model in order to improve the skills of descriptive writing in the fifth grade students of SD Negeri 03 Donohudan Boyolali academic year 2016/2017. This research was classroom action research, it conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of four phases, namely: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this research were the fifth grade students many as 33 students and the researchers collaborated with the teacher of class fifth SD Negeri 03 Donohudan Boyolali. The data source consists of primary and secondary data sources. The data of the research were gathered through test, observation, documentation, and in-depth interview. The data validity used were content validity and technique triangulation. The data analysis using the technique of comparative descriptive and critical analysis techniques. The results of the research show that pretest results of descriptive writing skill is 53,26 with the minimum learning completeness of 21,21%. Following the treatment, the class average increasse become 68,41 with the minimum learning completeness of 63,63% in a cycle I, and the class average is 76,23 with the minimum learning completeness of 84,85% in cycle II. Based on the research results, a conclusion is drawn that CIRC (Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition) Model can improve the skills of descriptive writing on the students in fifth grade of SD Negeri 03 Donohudan Boyolali Academic Year 2016/2017. Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendiskripsikan hasil penerapan model pembelajaran Kooperatif tipe CIRC (Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition) dalam rangka meningkatkan keterampilan menulis deskripsi pada siswa kelas V SD Negeri 03 Donohudan Boyolali tahun ajaran 2016/2017. Bentuk penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Tiap siklus terdiri dari empat tahap, yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas V yang berjumlah 33 siswa dan peneliti berkolaborasi dengan guru kelas V SD Negeri 03 Donohudan Boyolali. Sumber data terdiri dari sumber data primer dan sekunder. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah tes, observasi, dokumentasi, dan wawancara. Validitas data yang digunakan adalah validitas isi dan triangulasi teknik. Analisis data menggunakan teknik deskriptif komparatif dan teknik analisis kritis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil pretest tentang keterampilan menulis deskripsi adalah 53,26 dengan persentase ketuntasan kelas sebesar 21,21%. Pada siklus I, nilai rata-rata kelas meningkat menjadi 68,41 dengan persentase ketuntasan kelas sebesar 63,63%. Pada siklus II, nilai rata-rata kelas meningkat menjadi 76,23 dengan persentase ketuntasan kelas sebesar 84,85%. Simpulan penelitian ini adalah penggunaan model pembelajaran CIRC (Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition) dapat meningkatkan keterampilan menulis deskripsi pada siswa kelas V SD Negeri 03 Donohudan Boyolali tahun ajaran 2016/2017.
