- This main aim of this research is to know further the role and the position of the saka in the pendopo building in Java and to learn the estetical aspect covering placement, material, posture and decorative role of saka. Saka is very important part in Javanese traditional architecture because it held the strength of the structure and represented symbolic proud as well. The roof of the pendopo building is supported by saka, and the saka itself show how to hold the head of human being symbolically. Keywords: pendopo, vertical shape, saka guru, saka pengarak
