As a communal space, these spaces need to be integrated with the masterplan of the city itself. Unfortunately, architects and city planners often forget that the subject that needs this space type is not only the adults. Children also need space for their growth and development. The early human development or better known as the childhood phase is also very important. Children learning process needs to be contained with good public space design that includes playgrounds and stimulating materials. As a public space, children should also have fun exploring and experiencing interaction or play while enjoying the space itself. A child developmental growth really is affected by the stimulation of their sensory motor, especially their sense of touch and sight. The two things became the focus of this study while observing the adaptation of children within a children public space. In Bandung, one of the most crowded children public space is Taman Lalu Lintas Ade Irma Suryani Nasution. Located in the heart of the city, this park is indeed family friendly and filled with thematic play spaces. In 2017, the park was revitalized by Labo+ Architecture and Design to bring back the vision of the Taman Lalu Lintas Foundation that focuses on the early education for pedestrians and drivers. This public space became an interesting city element that needs to be observed further. The study began with collecting material data in each playground, continued with behavior and preference analysis. Observation is used in the study process, with 30 children age under the age of five as the subject.Children learn by playing. Their learning experience is stimulated by the visual appearance, shape, and also texture of the material used in installed play area. The stimulus of physical environment affects the response of the children while they are interacting with the space itself. This shows in their facial expression. Children experienced a positive outcome while visiting Taman Lalu Lintas Ade Irma Suryani Nasution, making the conclusion that this public space for children was designed successfully and can fill the needs of children to explore and learn about their environment at the same time.&#xA0;Key Words: child friendly public space, architectural elements, child sensor, Bandung</description><publisher lang="en-US">Department of Architecture, Faculty of Engineering Parahyangan Catholic University</publisher><contributor lang="en-US"/><date>2020-03-21</date><type>Journal:Article</type><type>Other:info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersion</type><type>Journal:Article</type><type>File:application/pdf</type><identifier>http://journal.unpar.ac.id/index.php/risa/article/view/3804</identifier><identifier>10.26593/risa.v4i02.3804.173-189</identifier><source lang="en-US">Riset Arsitektur (RISA); Vol 4, No 02 (2020): RISET ARSITEKTUR "RISA"; 173-189</source><source>2548-8074</source><source>2548-8074</source><language>eng</language><relation>http://journal.unpar.ac.id/index.php/risa/article/view/3804/2878</relation><rights lang="en-US">Copyright (c) 2020 Riset Arsitektur (RISA)</rights><recordID>article-3804</recordID></dc>
