Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis jenis taxisdan jenis hubungan logico-semanticyang digunakan dalam taxisyang ditemukan pada bagian latar belakang skripsi yang ditulis oleh mahasiswa sarjana Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris di Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif menggunakan analisis isi. Penelitianini mengadaptasi teori hubungan logico-semanticyang diajukan oleh Halliday (2004) dalam menganalisis kompleks klausa. Sumber data dan data penelitian ini adalah kompleks klausa pada lima bagian latar belakang skripsi mahasiswa sarjana Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris dan data diambil dari lima bagian latar belakang skripsi yang ditulis oleh mahasiswa sarjana Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris di Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Jumlah hubungan taxis,parataxisdan hypotaxis ditemukan dalam klausapada latar belakang skripsi yang ditulis oleh mahasiswa sarjana Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Ditemukan bahwa hypotaxissebagian besar digunakandengan total 89 dari 145 kali digunakan, dan kemudian parataxisdengan total 56 kali digunakan. Temuan ini juga mengungkapkan bahwa jenis elaborasi sebagian besar ditemukan dibagian latar belakang skripsi yang ditulis oleh mahasiswa sarjana Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris UNJ dengan total 38 kali digunakan, diikuti oleh extension, enhancement, dan projection.&#xD; &#xD; &#xD; &#xD; &#xD; &#xD; This study examines the logico-semantic relation in the background of the study section of skripsi written by English Language Education Undergraduate Students of Universitas Negeri Jakarta. The objective of this study is to analyze the types of taxis are used and the kind of logico-semantic relation are developed in the taxis which found in the background of the study section of skripsi written by English Language Education undergraduate students of Universitas Negeri Jakarta. This study is a qualitative research conducted by using content analysis. This study adapted the theory of logico-semantic relation proposed by Halliday (2004) in analyzing the clause complex. The data and data source of this study were the clause complex found in five background of the study section of skripsi of English Language Education undergraduate students and the data taken from five background of the study section of skripsi written by English Language Education undergraduate students of Universitas Negeri Jakarta. The finding shows that The number of taxis, parataxis and hypotaxis relation found in clauses in background of the study section of skripsi written by English Language Education undergraduate students of Universitas Negeri Jakarta. It is found that the hypotaxis mostly used with the total of 89 out of 145 times used, and then the parataxis with the total of 56 times used.
