- Archetype is initially a model or pattern, based on the original pattern which is formed or developed to be a new thing; prototype. This study discusses on character archetypes, symbols, situations, theme, or places that exist in folklore “Putroe Halouh and Naga Raksasa”. This research is descriptive qualitative using archetypes theoryproposed by Carl Jung. The technique used in the study is the technique of noting and reference. From the results of studies conducted there are 3 types of the most common archetypes found in folklore “Putroe Halouh and Naga Raksasa; characters, symbols and situations.
