- One important aspect in achieving macroeconomic stability is how to synchronize fiscal policy with the economic cycle. That requires precision in determining the government's fiscal policy strategy will be executed. Is countercyclical strategy, procyclical or acyclical. However, from a variety of theoretical and empirical studies on fiscal policy strategies in both the conventional economic system and the Islamic economic system, it appears that fiscal policy Ideally possess as automatic economic stabilizer. That is, the economy is undergoing expansion, then government spending should be reduced or increased tax revenue (contractionary fiscal policy ). Conversely, if the economy is experiencing a contraction (recession ), the expansionary fiscal policy should through increased spending or a decrease in tax revenues (expansive fiscal policy ). Thus, the automatic stabilizers of fiscal policy requires countercyclical function of fiscal policy.
