Using REAP (Read, Encode, Annotate, and Ponder) Strategy to Teach Reading Comprehension at Tenth Grade Students of Islamic Senior High School Nururrodhiyah Kota Jambi

- This study aimed to find out whether any significant difference of effect bewteen before and after giving treatment by using REAP ( Read, Encode, Annotate, And Ponder ) Strategy towards students’ Reading comprehensionat at tenth grade MAS Nururrodhiyah Kota Jambi. This stdudy used Quasi-Experimental Nonequivalent by using pre-test and post-test design Control Group, while the instrument of this study is the form of givin question with multiple choice test. The sample was taken from tenth grade students’ from tenth grde students’ MAS Nururrodhiyah Kota Jambi. The experimental class was taught by using REAP Strategy and The control class was taught without using REAP Strategy. Before giving the treatment, the students from both classes were given pretest to know how their ability in Reading comprehension. In the end of treatment, the students were given pot-test. The test which used as instrument consist of 25 multiple choices test. From the result with significance 0,05 % showed tht the average of experimental group score was 75,65 and the result of average of control was 63,30. The result of ttest stated that p value < 0,05, p value = 0.000. It means H1 accepted that REAP Strategy can make different significance on students’ Reading comprehension at tenth grade MAS Nururrodhiyah Kota Jambi.
