- The formulation of the problem in this study are (1) how is the score of students' English learning interest at MTs Al Ihsaniyah Muaro Jambi. (2) How is the score of students’ reading comprehention result at MTs Al Ihsaniyah Muaro Jambi. (3) is there any significant correlation between students' English learning interest and student reading achievement at MTs Al Ihsaniyah Muaro Jambi. The purpose of this study was to (1) To find out the score of students' English learning interest at MTs Al Ihsaniyah Muaro Jambi. (2) To find out the score of students' reading comprehension result at MTs Al Ihsaniyah Muaro Jambi. (3) To describe whether there is a correlation between students' English learning interest and student reading achievement at MTs Al Ihsaniyah Muaro Jambi. This type of research used is correlation research. The population used was the entire class VIII Madrasah Tsanawiyah Al Ihsaniyah Muaro Jambi which consisted of 3 classes totaling 75 students. The sampling technique in this study is to use simple random sampling technique. The population as a sample of 28 students was selected from each class. This research instrument in the form of questionire study interest and documentation. By checking the Product Moment rtable for N 28 at a significant level of 0,5%, obtained rtable = 0.3061. Thus rxy > rtable (0.368 > 0.3061) which means the correlation results are no convincing or no significant. Thus the decision is rejecteed alternative hypothesis which means there is no significant correlation between students’ learning interest and student reading result in learning English Class VIII MTs Al Ihsaniyah Muaro Jambi.
