(2) objective is to examine the possible causes of Christian Grey‟s sadomasochism. There are two findings in this study. (1) Reveals that Christian Grey is a sadomasochism based on the way he gains sexual excitement by inflicting pain, suffering, and humiliation. Besides, he also demonstrates a sadomasochistic sexual intercourse through spanking, whipping, blindfolding, and physical bondage. Next, he has a personality that indicates his sadomasochism which are secretive, possessive, and controlling. (2) Reveals the main possible causes of Christian Grey‟s sadomasochism is that the past distressing experience that he has with Mrs. Elena Robinson influences him to be a sadist. The sadomasochistic sexual intercourse is projected to Anastasia Steele.
