- This study used qualitative method by Creswell (2007). The data were taken from five selected song lyrics. Those are Creeping Death by Metallica, Power Slave by Iron Maiden, Egypt by Mercyful fate, Sacrifice Unto Sebek by Nile, Pharaoh by Freedom Call intended to reveal mythological aspect from Egyptian mythology, which are limited to the use of mythology and archetypal criticism. This thesis approaches five Death Metal Band’s song lyrics through mythology criticism. In terms of literature, mythology is the reflection of culture and behaviour of the people. However in addition, mythology also operates at the top level of human desire does not mean that it happened in real world. On Psychology and Anthropology perspective the mythology criticism provides images, symbols, and metaphor, which are developed by Jung. By reading the song lyrics, reading the personel interview and by analyzing lyrics using mythology and archetypal criticism Egyptian mythology play important role as main theme on its lyrics. This thesis will explain the Gods, Demonds, and Warriors. Keywords: Egyptian Mythology, Archetypes, Images, Song Lyrics
