- This study aims to reveal aspects of psychological trauma, the effects of trauma, and the self-defense mechanism described in the main character named Cristisan Grey inFifty Shades Darker novel. Qualitative method andpsychological approach areemployed to analyze the data in this study as most data analysis describes the main character through a psychological point of view. The results of this study indicate that Grey’s experienced. The psychological trauma found in the story is traumatic loss, sexual abuse, and witnessing trauma events. The Grey’s effects of the trauma are guilt, anxiety, post-traumatic diseases and have defense mechanisms. Keywords: Psychological Trauma, Anxiety, Defense Mechanism
