- The objectives of this study are to find out the materials used in teaching speaking using CLT, to describe the procedure of teaching speaking through CLT( communicative Language Teaching) and to analyze the result of teaching speaking using CLT in SDS Granada elementary school. The approach used in this study is Qualitative that is by doing observation ,interviewing the English teacher, and giving questionnaires to the students. The materials used in teaching speaking at Granada School are based on English book and workbook (lks).The teacher must develop the materials using communicative approach. The result of the CLT method used in speaking activity can give some adventages to the students, such as to give motivate the students and make them able to speak well. Based on the finding data of the study , it can be concluded that teaching speaking through CLT can improve the students interesting in english subject expecially speaking.
