  • Islamic Banking is identified with the profit sharing that adopts a profit and loss sharing (PLS) system. Islamic banking product which adopts a PLS system is a product with mudaraba and musharaka scheme. But in the reality and in the data that have been published shows that the financing products with mudaraba and musharaka scheme are still very low, the distribution of funds of Islamic banks actually dominated by selling products with murabaha scheme. This paper tries to describe the causes of low financing with PLS system in Indonesia. The results of this paper is a preliminary identification obtained by the authors during the study of Islamic banking as well as the author's experience in the field. Obviously more research is needed so that the problem of low financing with PLS system in Indonesia could be resolved so that the product with the PLS system can be a superior product of Islamic banking in Indonesia
