- The aim of this study is to analyze the characterization and personality of the main character in “Divergent” Novel. The data were taken from the dialogues and narratives from the content of the novel. Then the characterization and personality were described based on psychoanalitic theory. In analyzing the characterization, the writer used Diyanni (2004) theory and Freud (1928) to classify the personality of the main character. From the data identified and analyzed, it could be concluded that the main character has dynamic characterization that influences her Id, Ego and Super-ego revealed in the story.
