  • This study is entitled “The Use of Storytelling in Teaching Listening Using Direct Method (A Case Study of Second Grade Students at Mentari School Bintaro Elementary, South Tangerang). This study is aimed at analyzing teaching listening through storytelling using Direct Method. This study is also written to find out how teaching listening through storytelling was implemented at second grade of Mentari School Bintaro Elementary, South Tangerang. The approach that was used in this study is qualitative approach through observation, interviewing the English teacher, and questionnaire given to the students. Based on the results, this activity got good responses from English class especially listening class through storytelling because the students can improve their knowledge in listening, listen carefully and write the important notes about the story, make new stories and also learn from their mistakes in listening. The storytelling can make the students enjoyed, fun, active and not bored when studying in listening class. Keywords:Teaching Listening, Stories, Storytelling, Direct Method, Qualitative.
