  • The aim of this study is to describe the materials and the activities of teaching vocabulary with pictures using direct method in InsanMulya Kindergarten School, Gunungsindur, Bogor. The approach used in this study is qualitative approach and the data source was taken from conducting observation and interviewing the English teacher. To know the students’ achievement the exercises were given related to vocabulary through pictures. The result of the exercise shows there were nine students got A and one student got B in exercise I. In the exercise II there were eight studentsgot A, two students who got B and C. In the exercise III there were nine students got A and one student got B. This study showed that the students’ enjoy learning vocabulary with pictures using direct method. The use of pictures as a tool is to motivate students and make them interested in learning vocabulary. Keywords: Teaching Vocabulary, Pictures, Direct Method
