Teaching Descriptive Writing Using Mind Mapping Technique (A Quasi-Experimental Study Of Tenth Grade Students Of Smk Ekonomika Depok) (Skripsi Sastra Inggris S1, 2016)

- The aim of this research was to find out the effectiveness of Mind Mapping Technique in teaching writing descriptive text. The object of this study was the tenth grade students of SMK Ekonomika Depok. They were X PH 1 as the experimental class, and X AP 1 as the controlled class. Each class consisted of 35 students. The method used in this research was a quantitative method with quasi-experimental design using pre-test and post-test of students achievement to investigate the effectiveness of Mind Mapping Technique. The result showed that post-test mean score of experimental class (67.66) was higher than post-test mean score of controlled class (61.66). The significant effect was shown by post-test mean score of the experimental class which was treated by Mind Mapping Technique. It was better than the post-test mean score of controlled class which was not treated by Mind Mapping Technique. T-test result score showed that to = 2.864 was higher than T-table value obtained was ttable = 2.032. Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted because to > ttable . It proved that the using Mind Mapping Technique was effective. In the other words, there are a positive effect of the using Mind Mapping Technique in teaching writing descriptive text.
