- Objective: Blood sugar level is the concentration of sugar in blood fluctuations that change made by many factors, which one is age. Increased blood sugar levels in the elderly can occur due to the inactivity of the serum lipoprotein profile and increase insulin which is the main factors that cause DM. Method: This research is quantitative descriptive in March 2020. Purpose: to describe the current blood sugar levels of the elderly in Banjar Pegok, Denpasar City. Subject: 28 elderly with purposive sampling. Data obtained by questionnaire and observation with POCT (enzymatic glucose oxidase). Result: The results of this study were (28.6%) elderly had current blood sugar levels with category of not DM and (71.4%) category of uncertain DM. Sugar levels up to 71 mg / dL, the highest is 186 mg / dL and an average of 108.9 mg / dL that category of uncertain DM. Conclutions: To minimize the risk factors for Diabetes Mellitus in the elderly it is necessary to measure blood sugar levels regularly to measure fluctuating blood sugar levels or change any times.
