  • DESCRIPTION OF CRYSTAL CALCIUM OXALATEON URINE OF COFFEE DRINKERS IN BALER BALE AGUNG VILLAGE JEMBRANA REGENCYABSTRACTBackground:Coffee is a psychostimulant drink. Caffeine content in coffee which if excessive can affect the cardiovascularsystem. In the kidneys there are millions of small blood vessels that function as filters to remove blood residual products. If the blood vessels in the kidneys are damaged, it is likely the kidneys will be damaged and stop removing waste and extra fluid from the body. This kidney damage can cause urinary tract stone disease.Objective: to determine the description of calcium oxalate crystals in coffee drinkers in Baler Bale Agung Village, Jembrana Regency. Methods:The sample of this study was 34 people taken by purposive sampling. Data obtained through urine sediment examination of 34 samples. Results:Based on the results of the study showed that the results of calcium oxalate crystals in coffee drinkers obtained as many as 7 samples (20,59%) positive one, as many as 4 samples (11,76%) positive two and 23 negative samples. Based on the characteristics of respondents, the presence of high calcium oxalate crystals is found in the adult age category(57,14%), male (85,71%), consuming water < 8 glass/ day (71,43%) and consume coffee > 3 cups (57,14%).
