  • Hematocrit examination is one of the special blood tests that is often done in laboratories useful to help diagnose various diseases and the hematocrit value can be expressed in units of percent (%). Determination of the hematocrit value can be done by manual and automatic methods. This research is intended to determine the comparison of the results of hematocrit microhematocrit and automatic methods. This type of research is analytic research with cross sectional design. Hematocrit examination was performed by microhematocrit and automatic methods of 14 EDTA blood samples. The average results of hematocrit levels with the microhematocrit method in EDTA blood obtained by 39.93%, while the hematocrit levels with automatic methods on EDTA blood obtained an average of 41.09%. Independent sampel T-test obtained p value of 0.609 so with the result that p > ɑ (p > 0,05) means that there is no difference in the hematocrit level of the microhematocrit and automatic methods. Microhematocrit methods can be considered as a way to examine hematocrit in addition to automatically. Keywords: Hematocrit; microhematocrit method; automatic method; EDTA blood.
