- DESCRIPTION OF DENTAL AND ORAL HYGIENE AND DENTAL CARIES GRADE IV AND V STUDENTS OF SDN 3 MAS UBUD DISTRICT GIANYAR REGENCY IN 2018 ABSTRACT Dental caries are commonly found in children because most of children have poor oral hygiene and children eat lot of sweet foods and drinks that contain lots of sugar and rarely to toothbrush, so that children have higher dental caries experience. Caries is tooth tissue disease characterized by tissue damage starts from the tooth surface (pits, fissures, and interproximal areas) extends toward the pulp. The purpose of the study to explain Description of Dental and Oral Hygiene and Dental Caries Grade IV and V Students of SDN 3 Mas Ubud District Gianyar Regency in 2018. This research is description research with survey design. Results of research conducted on 43 students, most of students have oral hygiene with medium criteria namely 72,09% and only 16,28% have oral hygiene with good criteria. Average dental hygiene of students is 1,94 with moderate criteria. Most of students has caries namely 86,05%. Average dental caries of students namely 3,13 with moderate criteria. Oral hygiene with good criteria, the average of dental caries tend to be lower. Otherwise, oral hygiene with poor criteria, the average of dental caries tend to be higher.
