- Diabetes Mellitus is a group of metabolic diseases characterized by hyperglycemia that occurs due to abnormal insulin secretion, insulin performance or both. Increased diabetes mellitus is related to uncontrolled glucose levels in the blood. Blood glucose levels are closely related to fiber consumption. A person experiencing Diabetes Mellitus is usually characterized by an examination of blood glucose levels when above 200 mg / dL. Daily fiber that must be consumed by DM sufferers according to WHO recommendations is 25 grams / day. This study aims to describe the level of fiber consumption and blood glucose levels in DM type 2 cases in Wangaya Denpasar Hospital. The type of data in this case review is secondary data that is data obtained from the case study report of outpatient students during the implementation of the AGK Field Work Practice at Wangaya Denpasar Hospital. This research is a type of descriptive research with a case study design that is strengthened with a literature review (literature review) with a case study design. The results showed a link between fiber consumption and blood glucose levels. From the research that has been done, the number of cases used is one case in the form of daily cases in poly disease in RSUD Wangaya Denpasar. The results showed that the fiber consumed was 19.3 grams (77.2%) and the results of blood glucose examination were 212 mg / dL. The results of this study are in line with several research results which show that there is a relationship between fiber consumption and blood glucose levels in Diabetes Mellitus cases.
