  • Abstract Hospital waste has the potential to reduse quality and has potential health hazards. Health workers are vulnerable to the negative risk of medical waste due to direct contact with medical waste. Management of medical waste depends on the behavior of health workers. This study aims to determine the relationship of knowledge and attitudes towards the actions of health workers towards the management of medical waste. This research is quantitative with a cross sectional design conducted on health workers in UPTD. Bali Provincial Mental Hospital in 2020. Sampling with proportionate stratified random sampling, with 72 respondents consisting of 42 nurses and 30 cleaning services. Analysis using the Chi square Test. The results showed that there was no influence betwen knowledge and attitude wit the actions of nurses and cleaning service in the management of medical waste in UPTD. Bali Provincial Mental Hospital. These results by looking at the value of the output Chi square test known Asymp values.Sig (2-sides) in the Pearson Chi Square test of 0,234 > 0,05 in the knowledge variabel with action. In the attitude variable with output Chi Square test, the Asymp Sig (2-sided) value in Pearson Chi square test is 0,296 > 0,05. Based on this research UPTD should. Bali Provincial Mental Hospital, pay attention to facilities and conduct training and supervision to improve hospital medical waste management according to standards.
