- RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN EARLY BREASTFEEDING INITIATION (IMD) WITH EXCLUSIVE BREASTFEEDING IN THE WORKING AREA OF PUBLIC HEALTH I DENPASAR BARAT ABSTRACT Early Breastfeeding Initiation or often abbreviated as IMD is an opportunity given to the baby immediately after birth by putting the baby in the mother's stomach, then allowing the baby to find the mother's nipples and suckle until satisfied. Exclusive breastfeeding is breastfeeding for 6 months without the addition of other liquids, such as formula milk except vitamins and medicine. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between early breastfeeding initiation (IMD) with exclusive breastfeeding in the working area of Public Health I Denpasar Barat. This type of research is Observational with cross sectional research design. This research was conducted in January to March 2020, taken by strative sampling method as many as 69 people. Data collection by interview using a questionnaire, data analysis using Chi-Square. The results showed between exclusive breastfeeding based on age (p = 0.620), between exclusive breastfeeding based on the type of work (p = 0,700), between types of labor by doing IMD (p = 0,000), between IMD and exclusive breastfeeding (p = 0.003) . The conclusion of this research is that there is a significant difference between Early Breastfeeding Initiation (IMD) and exclusive breastfeeding.
