  • CORRELATION OF PUFA CONSUMPTION ON PREGNANT WITH BABY NEWBORN NUTRITIONAL STATUS AND HEAD CIRCUMFERENCE AT KLINIK BERSALIN YAYASAN BUMI SEHAT ABSTRACT PUFA is a plural unsaturated fatty acid that contains two or more double bonds. PUFA is a type of essential fatty acids, because the body cannot synthesize it while the body needs PUFA for the growth and normal functioning of all tissues. Pregnant women in the third trimester need PUFA ≥ 1.5 g / day. The purpose of this study is to determine the corelation of PUFA on pregnant consumption with nutritional status and head circumference of newborns at the Bumi Sehat Foundation Maternity Clinic. This study was an observational study with a cross-sectional design. Data were analyzed descriptively and analytically using an alternative Fisher exact Chi-Square analysis test. Newborns with normal nutritional status are 95.5% and newborns are underweight, 4.5%. Newborns with normal head circumference status with a percentage of 72.7% and 27.3% of newborns with microcephaly head circumference status. Based on the results of the study it was found that there was no significant relationship between PUFA consumption with the nutritional status of newborns at the Bumi Sehat Maternity Clinic with a p value = 0.182 and there was a significant relationship between PUFA consumption with the newborn head circumference at the Bumi Sehat Foundation Maternity Clinic with p value = 0.002 Keyword : Consumption of PUFA, nutritional status, head circumference
