- Abstract. The study aim is to determine the effect of exclusive breastfeeding educational program to increase knowledge and commitment of pregnant women for exclusive breastfeeding until 6 months after giving a birth. This was a quasi-nonrandomized experiment control group with pre-post test. Independent Sample t-Test is used to determine the difference between groups. Paired sample t-test is used to determine the effect of intervention in intervention group. Linier regression is also used to determine factors influence the knowledge and commitment. The study found that there was a significant increase of knowledge in intervention group (p<0,01). The knowledge and commitment score increase in the intervention group after implementation of intervention. The study suggests that a comprehensive educational program could be an effective strategy to increase knowledge and commitment of pregnant women in exclusively breastfeeding for 6 months.
