  • The most common dental illnesses are dental caries and periodontal, due to their high percentage and incidence in all places around the world. The firs permanent molar teeth are susceptible to caries because of their anatomical forms which are ideal for the growth of caries-causing bacteria. This study aims to determine the caries description of permanent first molar teeth in class V students at Tegalmengkeb 1 Elementary School in 2019. This type of research is a descriptive research with survey design. This research was conducted at SD Tegalmengkeb 1 in May 2019 with 29 respondents. The results of the study showed that the percentage of students experiencing caries in permanent first molar was 48,2%, the percentage of permanent first molar with caries was 22,4%, the average permanent first molars with caries were 0,89, and permanent first molar which often experience caries are found on the right lower right first molars of 38,4%. The conclusions of this study are the percentage of students who suffer from caries almost all students who where examined suffered caries. Caries averages and the percentage of caries teeth are quite low.
