GAMBARAN KARIES GIGI TETAP PADA SISWA KELAS IV DAN V SD N 1 PIKAT KECAMATAN DAWAN KABUPATEN KLUNGKUNG TAHUN 2019

- Dental health development is carried out by giving priority to efforts to improve health, prevent disease by not ignoring efforts and including elementary school age children (SD) in order to achieve optimal health status. Children in this period range from ages 6 to 12 years. The government has made the School Dental Health Business Program (UKGS) in each school. The hope is that with these programs dental health problems can be overcome. The most common dental health problem today is periodontal disease and dental caries. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of permanent dental caries in grade IV and V students of SD Negeri 1 Pikat, Dawan District, Klungkung Regency, April 2019. This research was a descriptive study, with a survey design. The number of respondents in this study were 50 people. The results showed that the frequency of students affected by caries in healthy teeth was 26 people (52%) while 24 students (48%) experienced caries. The average permanent teeth affected by caries were 0.76, and the teeth most frequently affected by caries were 36 teeth (permanent first lower left molar) as many as 14 teeth. The conclusion of this study is that on average each student has 0-1 dental caries in their permanent teeth, and the mode of teeth affected by caries is tooth 36.
