- Abstract, The death rate of bebies in Indonesia, namely in 2007 is at 34 per 1,000 survival birth. The death of babies are still fererred to reproduction health problem in all areas, included Bali.at this moment the government keepson doing the effoer of prevention to reduce babies mortaly rate and one of the solutions by implanting initiation of breastfeeding will indirectly affect positive one toward exclusive breastmilk intake. The aim of research is to identification correlation of early initiation of breastfeeding toward success of giving breastmilk to babies aged one day into three months old babies. For achieving this objective, categorical analytic research is conducted with retrospective approach. This research was was conducted from April to May 2012 by mothers having babies aged one day into three months old babies that fulfill inclusion criteria as research samples. The data is prosessed and analyzed by using univariant analysis technique and bivariant with chi-square static test. Based on calculation of chi-square test, it is obtained p value smailer than 0,05, whichis p<0,01. From the result of statistic test, it is obtained null hypothesis (Ho) is refused, it means that there is a signification correlation between early inisiation of breastfeeding and success of giving breastmilk for babies aged one day to babies three months old.
