- Abstract. Early initiation of breastfeeding is the effort of learning to breastfeed the baby for the first time with the action put the baby in the mother’s abdomen or chest and fail to prevent skin contact within the baby’s and mother’ skin. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of husband support the implementation of theearly nititation of breastfeeding. This research is quasi experimental with posttest control group design. The population is all the husband and pregnant women in health centre Dauh Puri and GA Widiasih clinical practice. Techniques consecutive sampling was used. The results showed statistically significant that there is relationship between with the husband’s support and early breasfeeding initiation. Which support poor husband has risk of failure early initiation of breastfeeding 7 times larger than the support of wonderful husband (OR=7, 95% CI: 3.11 to 15.76). So it is advisable to health workers should be counseling husband’s pregnant womwn to teir to be continue developed so that the husband s ready to wife by informational, awards, instrumental and emotional Keyword: husband’s support; early breastfeeding initiation; pregnant women
