- THE DIFFERENCE OF CONTACT TIME OF ZEOLITE STONE TO THE DECREASE OF CHEMICAL OXYGEN DEMAND FOR LAUNDRY WATER CV. WAHYU DEWATA OF 2018 ABSTRACK Laundry service is currently increasing along with the increasing of activity in society. The development of laundry services has an impact on increasing the amount of detergent use and the volume of wastewater. One of the processing that can be done by utilizing zeolite stone for wastewater treatment. The purpose of study is to know the effectiveness of zeolite stone with the difference of contact time to the decrease in Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) CV. Wahyu Dewata. Type of research used is quasi experiment. This research was giving 1500 gram zeolite powder on each treatment for 20 minutes, 40 minutes, and 60 minutes on a jar containing 10 liters of laundry waste water. The study was conducted with three replications and two repetitions on each replication. The ability of the zeolite stone to decrease the COD concentration in the test with Kruskal wallis with sig 0.000 showed that there was a difference of effectiveness of decreasing COD content in laundry water by giving zeolite stone for 20 minutes, 40 minutes and 60 minutes. The conclusions of this study indicate that treatment with 60 minutes is the most effective to decrease COD content of laundry waste water. Suggestion to laundry business owner to utilize zeolite stone to decrease COD content of waste water. Keyword : Contact time, Zeolite, COD.
