- Introductions And Aims:Binahong is traditional medicinal plant whose leaf can be used to treat various disease one of which is lower blood glucose levels. Binahong leaf can be used to lower blood glucose levels because it contains saponin compounds which function as inhibitor ?-glukosidase enzyme. The aim of this research to find out effectiveness from ethanol extract of binahong leaf (Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis) dose 0,7 mg/20 g BB to decrease blood glucose levels in white male mice (Mus musculus) which glucose induced.Method:This research using 20 mice which is divided into positive group, negative group, treatment group, dan normal group. The method used is glucose tolerance method with observed parameters is changes of blood glucose levels every 30 minute during 90 minute after being treated. The research data was tested using One Way ANOVA analysis and LSD which presented in the form of tables and graphs. Result:The power calculation results of blood sugar levels in glibenclamide is 56,16% while at ethanol extract of binahong leaf (Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis) dose 0,7 mg/20 g BB is 33,1% so that glibenclamide is more effective to lower blood glucose levels compared with ethanol extract of binahong leaf.Conclusion:Ethanol extract of binahong leaf (Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis) dose 0,7 mg/20 g BB can be used for lower blood glucose levels but the decrease is not as good as glibenclamide.Keywords: Anredera cordifolia, saponin, blood sugar levels, glucose induction
