- Abstract The aims of the research is to analyze how the history of ijazahan Islamic classic books (kitab kuning) have been a tradition in Islamic Boarding School of Hidayatut Thullab, Petuk Sub-village, Puhrubuh village, Semen district, Kediri regency.Furthermore, this study includes to analyze the process ijazahan have been practicing in there. Therefore, by analyzing the role of some Islamic leader (read; kiai), Islamic student (read; santri) and all of elements that include in the process of ijazahan and kilatan Islamic classic books (kitab kuning) have been a tradition in Islamic Boarding School Hidayatut Thullab-Pethuk. This project is based on field research, include; interview, participant observation and dialog among several elements in gathering the data. The goal of this research is to understand how the process of ijazahan of Islamic classic books (kitab kuning)is practiced in Islamic Hidayatut Thullab-Pethuk.
