  • Parental involvement is an activity of parents to help children to increase their achievement in the school. They help the children not only at home but also in another place. English learning achievement is where the student gets score after they finish their middle test. Then, this study is aimed to investigate the correlation between the parents’ involvement of students in MTsN 2 Kota Kediri and their English achievement when the test is conducted at eight grades. The design of this study is correlational study. The subjects of this study are 104 students of the eight grade students in MTsN 2 Kota Kediri. This research uses two instruments in collecting data. The instruments were questionnaire and test . The questionnaire consists of close ended questionnaire to collect data and research uses English achievement test to know students’ English learning achievement. The data were analyzed by using SPSS 21.0. To analyze the correlation between the variables, the research uses Kendall Tau-b correlation because the data do not have normal distribution. The result sig. test of correlation parental involvement and student English learning achievement value is 0.000 which is lower than 0.05. It means that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. The coefficient correlation between them is 0.241, which means that it has low correlation. So, there are a positive and low correlation between parental involvement and English learning achievement of regular eight grade students of MTsN 2 Kota Kediri.
