- One of the problems which Jakartans are currently facing right now is the over-population crisis of stray cats and dogs in the streets of Jakarta. This issue has caused multiple problems such as spread of infectious diseases, scaring people who are not accustomed to animals and also causing property damage to those around them. Currently there are only a few pet shelters that are available in Jakarta and most of the have very low adoptions rates, which reduces the space available when new comers arrive. In order to solve this problem, qualitative research will play a great role in gathering valid data from reliable sources in topics such as cat and dog behavior, pet shelter and animal health care building studies and interviewing experts such as vets, pet shelter management and pet trainers. The expected result of this research is to create an interactive area where pet shelters and animal health care facilities are all in one location along with other pet supporting related facilities, to contain the stray cats and dogs and increase adoption rates.
