- The growth in the urban population in Indonesia has led to the escalating of housing needs. In Jakarta, the growing needs in housing has resulted in reducing of vacant land. The problem of growth in population and housing needs create creates a new problems related to carbon gas emission. Carbon gas emission from the significant number of housing occurs due to the enormous electricity usage. This research was conducted to find energy-efficient flats design in order to reduce carbon gas emissions. The method applied is an experimental approach to some specific parameter that influence building's electrical energy consumption. Based on the results of literature studies, there are six parameters that affect electricity energy consumption in flats buildings. Data analysis shows that the propose design of the flats building can save the amount of electrical energy consumption by 60%.
