- The cultural inheritance of Tirta Empul Temple as a holy place at Manukaya Village, Tampaksiring, Gianyar Bali, has been used as a means of developing tourism. This study was conducted in order to understand the social reality related to the existence of Tirta Empul Temple in the context of global tourism. The global culture has implicated the practice of capitalistic culture, which then leads to the cultural comodification. Its existence has been comodified, commercialized and touristified as an adaptive form of the global culture having a new meaning.
