- Puputan Badung Waron 20 September 1906 presents the incidence of “suicide” mass, which was pioneered by the King of Denpasar I Gusti Ngurah Agung, who became known as Cokorda Mantuk Ring Rana. Various opinions comment on the unique incident, among others, saying that the King of Denpasar was trapped by the Dutch war strategy and advanced equipment when the war broke out so that he made a decision “suicidal”. others said that the King of Denpasar carried out the “puput” with philosophical considerations. This paper analyzes the relationship of literary feature and humanities activities undertaken by the king by looking at “Saraswati Hall” as a point of humanities activity so as to obtain the conclusion that the “puput” is the climax of the typical Hindu philosophical considerations.
