  • Glass is a material that made from mixing materials, which comes from the earth. However, glass is very difficult to decompose, that is why it causes environmental pollution. Therefore, sometimes objects made from glasses are being re-used to be objects that have aesthetic value, as well as to reduce glass waste. Seen from the techniques that are being used so far, the utilization of glass waste can not be managed at its maximum. The use of glass waste is only performed on objects that still have an intact form. When the glass is broken, it is really hard to create an object that can function properly because the glass itself has had sharp sides that can cause injury to the user. Moreover, many factories prefer to produce items made from the glass with new materials rather than using the existed glass waste. Knowing those facts above, in this design of glass waste that has been turned into the form of small fragments that are difficult to be reused will be processed to produce a functional product in a more environmentally friendly way. This design is combined with teak wood that has been unused. By designing this table lamp, the designer wants to bring up the aesthetic value from a waste that has been seen worthless into a masterpiece, which can be in demand by many people as one of the complementary objects in a room.
